"I wanted a collection that was sultry, confident, risky and yet elegant."
Canadian based designer Andrea Iyamah releases Fall 2012 Collection, the "Ndu" collection. Ndu meaning 'strength' in the local language of the Agbor tribe located in Delta State, Nigeria. The designer sought to portray the daring, feminine and strong ambiance of the African woman, using prints, distinct cuts and carefully hand beaded pieces the designer seeks to portray the undying beauty of the African woman.
What inspired the collection?
"I wanted a collection that was sultry, confident, risky and yet elegant. The collection was shot in GRA, Lagos Nigeria whereby the model on the railway symbolizes the knowledge of knowing the risk of taking particular steps in life... but yet you take it anyway. In every collection I release, I try to tell a story about a stage of my life I'm facing....this stage is one of consistent motivation, effort and of course 'Ndu' (strength) " - Andrea Iyamah
